As a woman with a larger cranium and lots of curly thick hair, hats that fit comfortably are difficult to find.The inner band on this hat is amazing.And the overall quality is suburb.It was shipped quickly and even arrived 2 days earlier than expected.This is by far my new favorite sun hat for golf, gardening and anything under the sun.Highly recommendedThis has the biggest brim of any hat I’ve seen that doesn’t look like it could be a prop in a Chevy Chase movie. On advice of my dermatologist, like most people, I’m advised to wear a hat when in the sun. I try to walk a couple miles each day. Whether it’s high noon or the hottest later afternoon sun, the width of the brim on this hat and it’s turned down angle make it very effective as a sun blocker. I’m silly enough at times to worry about something like a hat making me look silly, but a little silliness as alternative to a serious sunburn is both a good and a wise choice. Only thing I might do is to snip off the big label on the front of the hat which gives the name of the manufacturer, COR . The fabric under the brim is ostentatious, but seriously, I think I am the only one who can see it!2022 Update: I continue to wear this hat almost daily. I’ll wear it while doing yard work or on walks outside. It got soaked last summer at the beach/pool and it’s still going strong! My teenager calls it “the ugly hat” but I don’t particularly care.Original Review: I’m on four different medications that make me photosensitive, so I always have to wear a hat when I’m outside. I keep trying hats and I keep finding problems... the fabric is too floppy and the hat doesn’t hold shape, it will only have a front brim, doesn’t allow for air flow or the hat gets wet and falls apart. By the end of summer another hat bites the dust and I go back on The Great Hat Hunt.This hat is awesome!! It has a nice wide (lined!) brim to shade my face and neck, it’s not floppy, it’s designed to wear at the beach or pool and the top of my head didn’t feel overly hot. I’m a small woman and I have a little head so I was nervous about the sizing—a lot of hats are way too big on my head and fall over my eyes. I bought the M-L size and it fits great, very cowboy hat style with slightly narrower sides. There is a stretch headband inside that helps make it a comfortable fit for different size heads. My mom tried on the hat and she really liked it too! Her head is larger than mine, so a “normal” woman’s size head and she felt the M-L size fit well.My husband burns easily and also needs to wear a hat outside, but he is tall and has a much larger than average head. He usually needs an XL fitted baseball cap and those are still tight. I ordered the L-XL in the sarape option for him, and crossed my fingers that it would be large enough. It fit AND he really likes his hat too!! I call this hat a win.Pretty sweet vacation hatI’ve never had much luck with hats. This one was perfect. The only problem was I got a M/L. It's a tad too big, but I use the chin tie, to secure it...I wear it at my barn, I just hope my horses don't take a bite out of it..that seems to be the normal problem lol IHusband loves this hat! Really protects from the sun. Comfy material and seems durable!
